The concept of the terminal is to create a building integrated in the flat landscape as if emerging out from it, and opening towards the Airfield and the horizon. Also, the terminal has been designed to be able to grow as per de Future Projections, but also, we have established other intermediate points of the stages of growth to make it more flexible and feasible, adaptable to numerous unforseen circumstances.
The terminal is conceives as a green terminal, with an external courtyard with terraces for Food and Beverage, and a tropical garden with artificial mist, close to departure gates to enchance the experience of the passenger. We have created a landscape of skylights that filters natural light into the terminal, creating an homogenous level of indirect light in the terminal. As a measure of financial sustainability, we have opted for small spans so that the economic impact of the structure is reduced: instead, we have focused the architectural matter around the beauty of columns, giving way to a bautiful hypostile room.
